We arrived at Foxwoods and it sort of looked like a ghost town, now it was a Wednesday, but still it is the summer so you would think it would be more crowded. Now my husband is not a fan of the casinos but I talked him into it as there was a show and he wanted to see the show. So we were bored and decided to drive to Foxwoods as it is only an hour and a half drive. We found Foxwoods to be a nice gambling meca and plan to visit again. We didn't stay at a Foxwoods hotel, but opted for a beautiful hotel just down the road.the Bellissimo Grand at just $80.00 per night. We also checked out the Mohegan Sun, which doesn't compare except for the food. It is easy to get to, under four hours from Philly (off peak driving), has several free parking garages, easy navigation signs and parking location reminder cards. Although we lost our shirts gambling, we had a good time doing it. The dining options are basically endless with good food at very reasonable prices. The people who work at the casino are actually friendly and very pleasant.
We actually found a bank of our favorite poker machines.multi-demonination 'super times play' in the Grand Cedars Casino.our favorite of course. It has several different casinos all under one roof. Being from Philly, we've frequented the Pa., New Jersey and Vegas casinos. My wife and I just returned from a two day gambling visit at Foxwoods.
